Microsoft Windows 10 – No sound

1. After upgrading to Microsoft Windows 10 there is no sound coming out of the speaker. In most cases this can be easily  solved by updating the driver software.
2. Imagine your sound software is Conexant SmartAudio HD which are part of most of the Lenovo machines.
3. Just type “Device Manger” and in the result click on ‘Update device drivers’.
4. Expand ‘Sound, video and game controllers’
5. Right click on ‘Conexant SmartAudio HD’
6. Click ‘Update Driver Software…’
7. If you are connected to the internet, select the first option which is ‘Search automatically for updated driver software’
8. If there is an update, the process will update the driver software and once that is complete it will ask for restarting the computer. Save all your work and restart the computer.
